DETROIT, Mich. – December 10, 2008 – CareTech Solutions, an information technology (IT) and Web products and services provider for hospitals and health systems, announced today it has signed a five-year renewal agreement to continue providing The Detroit Institute for Children (The DIC) with IT outsourcing services, continuing a strategic partnership that began in April 2005. Under the terms of the agreement, CareTech Solutions will continue to provide The DIC with a full range of IT services, including support of the facility’s service desk, applications, computer network, data center and telephony system.
“The decision to renew our contract with CareTech Solutions was rooted in CareTech’s proven understanding of how IT should support our staff’s efforts to deliver the best diagnostic, medical and rehabilitative services to improve the care we provide our patients,” said Mike Wooley, chief executive officer of The Detroit Institute for Children. “CareTech has the technology and the expertise we need to continue to move The Detroit Institute for Children forward in support of our mission.”
Since becoming The DIC’s IT partner in 2005, CareTech Solutions has provided a wide range of technology installations and support, including implementation and support of the facility’s IT infrastructure. CareTech and its employees have also extended a high level of commitment to The DIC’s mission and have been steadfast participants in The DIC’s fundraising and volunteer efforts.
Jim Giordano, CareTech’s president and CEO, states that a thorough understanding of The DIC’s mission and operating environment – combined with CareTech’s commitment to exceeding customer expectations as evidenced by its market-leading performance in the KLAS 2008 Extensive IT Outsourcing Study – positioned CareTech as an ideal partner to manage the continuous evolution of The DIC’s IT infrastructure over the next five years.
“The Detroit Institute for Children began a major commitment in 2005 to enable delivery of better patient care through technology,” said Giordano. “CareTech is delighted to be able to continue as The DIC’s technology partner, leveraging our understanding of the institute’s operations, mission and goals to provide the tools needed to realize that commitment.”
