Troy, Mich. – May 24, 2005 – Patrick Milostan, vice president and chief technology officer of CareTech Solutions, Inc., an Information Technology and Health Information Management services company for hospitals and health systems, today joined Frank Sottile, MD, chief medical officer of Crittenton Hospital Medical Center in Rochester, Mich., in a general session entitled, “Accelerating Patient Safety Improvements through Information Technology,” at the 76th Annual Convention of the Kentucky Hospital Association.
Milostan and Dr. Sottile jointly presented the session early this afternoon, in an effort to educate hospital administrators and other healthcare executives on the emerging ways hospitals can use information technology to increase patient safety.
“Technologies such as radio frequency identification tags, computerized physician order entry, wireless networks, and portal technologies can dramatically improve physician access to patient information,” stated Milostan. “Emerging technologies not only enable more efficient work processes within or outside of the hospital, their power can be harnessed to support patient safety initiatives with dramatic results.”
CareTech is a supporter of the convention, themed, “A New Horizon for Heath Care” at the Hyatt Regency and Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, Ky, May 23-25.
