CareTech Solutions Signs Five-Year Agreement with BJC HealthCare of St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – January 26, 2009 – CareTech Solutions, an information technology (IT) and Web products and services provider for hospitals and health systems, announced today that it has signed a five-year agreement to provide a comprehensive suite of Web products and services to facilities within the BJC HealthCare family of St. Louis, Mo.

CareTech Solutions’ Web Services will provide BJC, and 11 of its affiliated hospitals, with its CareWorks CMSTM Web content management system and BoardNetTM communications portal for hospital boards of directors. In line with CareTech’s e-strategy and BJC’s goals for the future, CareTech will also provide design expertise, Web analytics and search-engine optimization (SEO) consulting.

“Our web site is our face to the world and, often, our first impression,” said June Fowler, BJC vice president of corporate and public communications. “We look forward to enhancing our web capabilities to elevate our presence and further engage our patients and their families.”

“I want to thank BJC HealthCare’s leadership for choosing CareTech Solutions to help strengthen its Internet presence across the board,” said Jim Giordano, President and CEO of CareTech. “Our Web Services team brings its nationwide experience and an integrated approach to Web technology in the hospital setting to help BJC reach its strategic goals. We will do whatever it takes to make BJC a national model in crucial areas it has targeted, such as patient advocacy, clinical quality, and employee satisfaction. As BJC HealthCare’s Web products and services provider, we look forward to a lasting and valuable working relationship.”

CareTech’s CareWorks CMSTM (Content Management System) is a turn-key engine for building full-featured websites. CareWorks CMSTM will provide BJC HealthCare facilities the ability to manage Web content, as well as online transactions, such as patient registration and online bill payment, under a single secure site.

CareTech’s BoardNetTM is a secure, permission-based communications portal for hospital boards of directors that allows board members secure Internet-based access to information critical to effective decision making. This includes board packets and meeting minutes, financial and other operational data and regulatory compliance issues. BoardNetTM also enables improved communication among hospital board members using secure forums, document repositories and group calendars.
