Organizers Particularly Laud CareTech’s Performance in Hotly Contested & Highly
Creative “Best Web 2.0/Rich Media” and “Best Health/Healthcare Content” Categories
TROY, Mich. – December 8, 2008 – CareTech Solutions, an information technology (IT) and Web products and services provider for hospitals and health systems, announced today that seven of its client-hospital Web sites are winners in Strategic Healthcare Communications’ eHealthcare Leadership Awards competition. CareTech Solutions leaders accepted the awards at the 12th annual Internet Healthcare Conference, held November 10-12, 2008 in Orlando, Fla.
Among CareTech’s accolades are Silver Awards for two of its healthcare-client Web sites – Holy Family Memorial Health of Manitowoc, Wis. (www.hfmhealth.org) for Best Health/Healthcare Content, and The Detroit Medical Center of Detroit, Mich. (www.dmc.org) for Best Web 2.0/Rich Media. Competition organizers say CareTech and its client hospitals’ performance in these categories set them apart from competitors in the field.
“The eHealthcare Leadership Awards’ Best Health/Healthcare Content category has traditionally been the most contested category in the competition, and the Best Web 2.0/Rich Media category always attracts the competition’s most highly innovative and creative work,” said Mark Gothberg, eHealthcare Leadership Awards chairman. “Combined with its numerous other winning entries, CareTech is to be congratulated for its particularly strong performance in these highly competitive categories.”
Two CareTech Solutions clients received a combined three Platinum Awards, the competition’s highest award classification. Hendricks Regional Health of Danville, Ind. (www.hendricks.org) received Platinum Awards in the categories of Best Overall Internet Site and Best Site Design respectively, and Oakwood Healthcare System of Dearborn, Mich. (www.oakwood.org) received a Platinum Award for Best Intranet Site. In addition, two CareTech Solutions clients received Silver Awards: Oakwood Healthcare System of Dearborn, Mich. (www.oakwood.org) and The Christ Hospital of Cincinnati, Ohio (www.thechristhospital.com), each for Best Site Design.
“Our clients’ exceptional performance in this Web site competition speaks to the talent, intelligence and value our Web Services team brings to every client we serve, helping to ensure they lead the way in using Web technology to improve the patient care experience,” said Chris Catallo, Director of Web Products and Services with CareTech Solutions. “We’re thrilled that so many of our clients’ Web sites have received top honors in the e-Healthcare Leadership Awards competition, and we thank our clients for their commitment to better care through Web technology.”
Strategic Healthcare Communications’ eHealthcare Leadership Awards competition exclusively recognizes the very best Web sites within the healthcare spectrum. Organizations could enter under one of 17 classifications to compete against other organizations of comparable type, size and resources, and the competition’s roster of 114 healthcare- and Internet-expert judges also reviewed Web sites based upon a proprietary multipoint standard of Internet excellence. Twelve award categories were offered. For more information, visit www.strategichealthcare.com/awards.
